História

O Blur é um grupo britânico de britpop e rock alternativo formado em Londres em 1989. Ao longo de sua trajetória, a banda acumulou milhões de vendas mundiais e passou por diversas fases, reuniões e lançamentos de álbuns de sucesso.

A banda surgiu originalmente em 1988 com o nome Seymour, adotando o nome Blur após assinar com a gravadora Food Records. O primeiro álbum de estúdio, Leisure, foi lançado em 1991. Nos anos seguintes, o grupo buscou reinventar sua sonoridade e enfrentou momentos de crise financeira e recepção difícil em turnês internacionais, mas deu a volta por cima com discos como Modern Life Is Rubbish e Parklife, este último aclamado por revistas especializadas.

Com o passar dos anos, a formação passou por mudanças, incluindo a saída e o retorno do guitarrista Graham Coxon, além de pausas para projetos paralelos dos integrantes, como o trabalho de Damon Albarn no Gorillaz. O grupo lançou diversos trabalhos de estúdio, álbuns ao vivo e coletâneas comemorativas, marcando presença em importantes festivais e eventos globais, como as Olimpíadas de Londres.

O estilo musical do grupo evoluiu incorporando referências da música britânica e de bandas influentes, resultando em uma discografia marcante com discos como The Magic Whip e The Ballad of Darren. A trajetória do Blur é marcada por retornos triunfais aos palcos e turnês mundiais que consolidaram seu nome na história do rock alternativo.
