História

O Depeche Mode é um grupo de música eletrônica formado em Basildon em 1980. A banda construiu uma carreira global de grande sucesso e foi introduzida no Hall da Fama do Rock and Roll.

O Depeche Mode surgiu em março de 1980 na Inglaterra, reunindo inicialmente Dave Gahan, Martin Gore, Andy Fletcher e Vince Clarke. Após lançarem o primeiro álbum, Speak & Spell, em 1981, Clarke deixou o grupo e Martin Gore assumiu o posto de principal compositor, enquanto Alan Wilder se juntou posteriormente à formação.

Ao longo das décadas, o grupo lançou diversos trabalhos marcantes, como os álbuns Violator e Songs of Faith and Devotion, consolidando sua importância nas cenas eletrônica e alternativa. A saída de Wilder em 1995 reduziu temporariamente a formação, mas a banda seguiu gravando álbuns e realizando turnês internacionais.

Após o falecimento de Andy Fletcher em 2022, Dave Gahan e Martin Gore continuaram a trajetória da banda como um duo, lançando o álbum Memento Mori em 2023. O Depeche Mode vendeu mais de 100 milhões de discos mundialmente e acumulou dezenas de sucessos nas paradas britânicas.
